Ex-Mayer Brown CIO Pleads Guilty To $4.8M Kickback Scam

Law360, Chicago (April 22, 2013, 5:33 PM EDT) -- A former Mayer Brown LLP chief information officer reversed course and pled guilty in Illinois federal court Monday to taking part in a $4.8 million billing and kickback scheme that victimized his former employer.

After entering a plea of not guilty in January, David Tresch on Monday pled guilty, under a deal with prosecutors, to one count of having devised on participated in a scheme to defraud and deprive the law firm where he once worked of the intangible right to his honest services through kickbacks....
