Fendi Counterfeiter Hit With $35M In Penalties

Law360, New York (April 22, 2013, 5:47 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Friday upped to more than $35 million the monetary damages, interest and fees a seller of counterfeit Fendi Adele SRL-branded bags will have to pay the luxury goods maker.

U.S. District Judge Richard Berman ordered Ashley Reed Trading Inc. to pay three times their total reported sales for each year from 2001 to 2006, saying the company failed to establish extenuating circumstances regarding its unlawful business or that the fine is excessive.
