Ericsson Ramps Up Essential Patent Battle With Samsung

Law360, New York (April 22, 2013, 7:07 PM EDT) -- Ericsson Inc. escalated its standard-essential patent fight with Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. on Monday, accusing the rival electronics giant of infringing eight more telecommunications patents used in TVs, computers and other devices.

Ericsson sued Samsung in November, alleging that Samsung was infringing after it refused to renew a license to Ericsson's essential patents. Samsung countersued in March, alleging that Ericsson's had refused to license Samsung's own technology and alleged infringement of 12 standard-essential patents.
