Nero Seeks Escape From JVC Suit Over Optical Disc Patents

Law360, Los Angeles (April 23, 2013, 10:46 PM EDT) -- Software developer Nero Inc. urged a California federal judge Tuesday to throw out allegations that its software for burning data onto DVDs and Blu-rays infringed JVC Kenwood Corp.’s standards-essential patents covering the manufacture of optical discs, saying the patent rights end when discs are sold to consumers.
