Dell Gets Sanctions Against Mass Engineered Design

Law360, New York (January 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Granting Dell Inc.'s request for sanctions in an ongoing patent case over multiscreen display units, a federal judge on Tuesday agreed that patent holder Mass Engineered Design Inc. had “blatantly violated” rules pertaining to depositions on claim constructions.

U.S. District Judge Leonard Davis of the Eastern District of Texas ordered Mass to pay all attorneys' fees and expenses incurred from the Oct. 19, 2007, deposition of Alan Tameshtit, as well as the fees and expenses incurred by Dell to bring the motion for sanctions.
