Facebook Earns High Marks On Privacy From Auditor

Law360, New York (April 25, 2013, 1:25 PM EDT) -- An independent audit of Facebook Inc.'s privacy program implemented as part of a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission revealed that new controls are successfully protecting users' personal information, the company said Thursday.

In the first examination of the privacy policy since Facebook resolved allegations that it deceived users about the security of their personal information, a third-party assessor concluded that the program was operating effectively. The controls have provided "reasonable assurance" to that private data is being properly locked away, according to the report....
