Democrats To Push Pa. False Claims Act

Law360, Philadelphia (April 25, 2013, 1:57 PM EDT) -- Two Pennsylvania Democratic representatives intend to introduce legislation creating a False Claims Act aimed at countering waste and fraud in state government, according to a co-sponsorship memo released Wednesday.

Rep. Brandon Neuman, D-Washington, and Rep. Anthony DeLuca, D-Allegheny, seek to have Pennsylvania join 29 other states and Washington that have their own version of the act. In the memo, they contend that the legislation would allow the state to increase recovery from Medicaid fraud lawsuits.
