Belgian Supreme Court To Hear Telecom Merger Case

Law360, New York (January 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Belgian telecom companies Tecteo and Brutele have completed the acquisition of eight cable providers, but that may not keep rival company Belgacom from trying to rescind the deal by demanding access to documents relating to the negotiations.

The Belgian Supreme Court will being hearing arguments this week on whether or not third parties should have access to documents pertaining to a pending merger, in a case that could have a major impact on the way companies approach mergers.
