Patient Wins $6.5M Award In 1st Actos Bladder Cancer Trial

Law360, Los Angeles (April 26, 2013, 8:06 PM EDT) -- A California jury on Friday awarded $6.5 million to a man and his wife who claim the diabetes drug Actos caused his terminal bladder cancer, finding in the first product liability trial of its kind that Japan's Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. failed to adequately disclose the drug's link to the disease.
