Ch. 11 Sought By "Green" Fuel Co. In The Red

Law360, New York (January 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- BioEnergy of America Inc., a biodiesel producer with a plant in New Jersey, recently filed for Chapter 11 protection, joining other industry members that are struggling financially.

The company was originally called BioEnergy of Colorado, and started producing in 2004. The company produced 15% of all biodiesel sold in the U.S. In 2005, the company Web site says.

The company listed assets between $1 million and $10 million, and liabilities between $10 million and $50 million. Its largest unsecured creditor, Paragon Biofuels LLC, has a balance...
