US Chamber Pushes Senate To OK Funding For Water Projects

Law360, Washington (April 29, 2013, 3:52 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and a slew of farming, engineering and energy organizations urged the Senate on Monday to sign off on a bill authorizing money for several U.S. Army Corps of Engineers water projects, saying the efforts will spur economic growth and create jobs.

The groups threw their support behind the Water Resources Development Act of 2013, which would approve 18 Corps water projects ranging from storm-damage prevention and erosion mitigation to creating grant programs for state and local governments to oversee Corps-authorized projects...
