Magyar Execs Can't Yet Appeal Landmark FCPA Ruling: SEC

Law360, New York (May 2, 2013, 2:12 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday challenged a bid by three former Magyar Telekom PLC executives to appeal a landmark ruling that allowed the SEC to pursue its foreign bribery case against them, saying it would be an unnecessary delay.

The SEC said the defendants, who in February lost their motion to dismiss Foreign Corrupt Practices Act claims in New York federal court, would unduly delay the trial because the Second Circuit is likely to dismiss thee appeal.
