Linklaters Gets Korea's Go-Ahead For Seoul Office

Law360, New York (May 2, 2013, 4:07 PM EDT) -- Linklaters LLP has notched approval to open a Seoul office from South Korea's Ministry of Justice, becoming the latest foreign law firm to make a successful play for the Asian nation's legal market, a firm spokesman confirmed Thursday.

Since South Korea opened its legal market, at least 17 foreign firms have received governmental approval to open offices in Seoul. Linklaters' Korea practice, which currently serves clients out of Hong Kong, focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital markets, energy, and foreign direct investment, according to...
