Philly Settles Bid To Kick Boy Scouts Out Of City Building

Law360, New York (May 3, 2013, 4:29 PM EDT) -- The City of Philadelphia on Friday reached a settlement with the local chapter of the Boy Scouts of America in a long-running dispute in which the city sought to boot the group from a building erected on city-owned property because of its policies prohibiting openly gay members.

As a result of the settlement, the Cradle of Liberty Council, Boy Scouts of America has agreed to leave the building in question while the city has agreed to reimburse the organization $825,000 for capital improvements it has made...
