Judge Calls Porn Troll A Fraud, Possible RICO Violator

Law360, New York (May 7, 2013, 4:14 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge handed down a scathing decision Tuesday against Prenda Law, a firm notorious for its porn-copyright trolling, blasting the organization's litigation operation as a fraud that deserved criminal prosecution under federal racketeering laws.

In a blistering 11-page order, U.S. District Judge Otis Wright described an organization that manipulated copyright law and the federal court system to extort infringement settlements from unnamed downloaders fearful of being associated with pornography.
