Ala. High Court Finds No Coverage For Faulty Work

Law360, New York (May 7, 2013, 5:28 PM EDT) -- Alabama's Supreme Court ruled Friday that American Resources Insurance Co. Inc. did not have a duty to defend a contractor against allegations of faulty work, deciding there had been no "occurrence" under the contractor's liability policy.

The high court held that American Resources did not have to cover Shane Traylor Cabinetmaker LLC against counterclaims by R.L. Barbee Builders Inc., relying on its 2011 decision in Town & Country Property LLC v. Amerisure Insurance Co.
