OIG Updates Rules On Providers Excluded From Medicare

Law360, New York (May 8, 2013, 8:44 PM EDT) -- A U.S. Department of Health and Human Services watchdog on Wednesday outlined its updated procedures on how hospitals and other Medicare and Medicaid providers can deal with staff and contractors who are excluded from the federal health care programs.

According to the HHS Office of Inspector General, the new guidance outlines its updated rules on services and items provided by or at the direction of people excluded from the federal health care programs. The last guidance was issued in September 1999.
