HP, Dell Accused Of Infringing Touch-Screen Patent

Law360, New York (May 13, 2013, 5:43 PM EDT) -- Texas-based Touchscreen Gestures LLC hit Hewlett-Packard Co. and Dell Inc. with patent lawsuits in Texas federal court on Friday, the latest in a string of suits filed by the company claiming infringement of touch-screen technology.

The company accused HP and Dell of making, using, importing and selling devices that feature a mechanism for identifying a single tap on a touch screen. The patent, U.S. Patent Number 7,180,506, applies to touch-sensitive devices like the trackpads on laptop or notebook computers, the complaints said.
