Z Capital Blocks Poison Pill In Casino Co. Power Play

Law360, New York (May 13, 2013, 1:58 PM EDT) -- Private equity firm Z Capital Partners LLC announced Monday it will be able to move ahead with plans to strengthen its hold over casino operator Affinity Gaming after a Nevada judge granted its bid to block a poison pill shareholder rights agreement.

The Nevada Eighth Judicial District Court judge's ruling comes in advance of Affinity's annual stockholder meeting on Tuesday, where the Chicago-based distressed asset investor is angling to install its President and CEO James Zenni and general counsel Martin Auerbach onto the the company's board...
