US Sets Dumping Rates On Thai Plastic Bag Exporters

Law360, New York (May 14, 2013, 3:10 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce has determined that companies in Thailand are importing plastic bags into the country at below normal market value and set preliminary dumping rates on several foreign businesses, according to a notice published Tuesday.

Commerce's International Trade Administration determined that ten Thai businesses have dumped products covered by a duty order on polyethylene retail carrier bags, according to a notice in the Federal Register. The government's inquiry covered the period between Aug. 1, 2011, through July 31, 2012.
