GSC Trustee Defends Handling Of Kaye Scholer Ethics Deal

Law360, New York (May 13, 2013, 7:46 PM EDT) -- The U.S. trustee overseeing GSC Group Inc.'s New York bankruptcy defended herself Friday from criticism levied over her handling of a recent settlement with Kaye Scholer LLP over alleged ethics violations, blaming a miscommunication with the court.

U.S. Trustee Tracy Hope Davis submitted a letter of defense Friday in response to an in-court shellacking administered by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Shelley Chapman, who blasted as “completely unacceptable" Davis' handling of a settlement with the firm over purported ethical lapses regarding its relationship with Capstone Advisory Services Inc....
