Bankrupt Electric Car Co. Aims To Recall Sedan Airbags

Law360, Chicago (May 14, 2013, 6:23 PM EDT) -- Bankrupt Coda Holdings Inc. asked for court permission Monday to recall airbags in its flagship sedan, saying the move is strictly voluntary but prudent in order to protect the failed electric carmaker’s brand.

The recall was prompted by a National Highway Transportation Safety Administration test earlier this year that found the side curtain airbags in the CODA sedan didn’t deploy “as intended,” though no injuries have been attributed to the problem, the company said in a motion filed in Delaware bankruptcy court.
