Lawyer Axed For Not Discriminating In Hiring: Suit

Law360, New York (January 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A former Forman Perry Watkins Krutz & Tardy LLP lawyer has sued the Jackson, Miss.-based law firm for firing her after she was allegedly told by a partner not to hire black lawyers.

Sandra Perez Ard filed a discrimination lawsuit against the firm last week in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. She accused a white former managing partner of the firm's Houston office of giving the discriminatory instruction during the firm's interview process for new associates in March 2005.
