GAO Calls For Climate Change-Ready Infrastructure Projects

Law360, New York (May 15, 2013, 5:26 PM EDT) -- The Government Accountability Office recommended in a report released Tuesday that federal and state infrastructure project planners give more consideration to the impact of climate change, calling for the creation of a new federal entity to supply officials with the best available data.

Project coordinators and other decision makers have not systematically factored climate change into infrastructure planning, and the federal government needs to step up and do a better job of distributing critical information about emerging vulnerabilities caused by a warming planet, the GAO said...
