What Exporters Need To Do Before Oct. 15

Law360, New York (May 23, 2013, 12:21 PM EDT) -- The first round of changes instituting the Obama administration's Export Control Reform Initiative will officially become effective on Oct. 15, 2013. This day should be marked on the calendars of all U.S. companies that export any products, technology or services. The new rules give companies six months from their publication to when they become effective in order to give companies time to prepare for the changes. Given the fact that there is a built-in period of adjustment, the government likely will expect exporters to be up-to-speed on new requirements affecting them as soon as the changes are effective. Exporters must start adjusting now....
