Library Hotel Settles Dewey Decimal Trademark Suit

Law360 (November 25, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- New York’s Library Hotel has settled a lawsuit brought by the non-profit library cooperative Online Computer Library Center in Ohio over its use of the Dewey Decimal Classification system in its floor plan.

As part of the settlement, the Library Hotel agreed to acknowledge in its advertising that the cooperative owns the system and make a donation in an undisclosed amount to a nonprofit organization that promotes children's reading.
