Microsoft Accuses Licensee Of Ripping Off Software

Law360, New York (May 20, 2013, 7:20 PM EDT) -- Microsoft Corp. launched a suit in Georgia federal court Wednesday accusing Ebix Inc. of copyright infringement and breaching a licensing agreement by making unauthorized copies of programs and attempting to stymie Microsoft's efforts to investigate.

Microsoft says it suspected its Atlanta-based customer, which designs computer applications for insurance companies, was not honoring the terms of their contract in January 2012, and tried bringing in an accounting firm to perform an audit, but Ebix gave the tech giant the runaround.
