N.Y. Wins $1.6M In Cleanup Costs From Polluters

Law360 (January 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A band of eight public entities and companies, including Bausch & Lomb Inc. and E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co., have agreed to pay almost $1.6 million to clean up a hazardous waste site listed under New York's state Superfund program.

The group will reimburse the state for the cost of restoring an 18-acre site in Rochester, N.Y., that was polluted with high levels of cancer-causing toxic chemicals over its 25-year life span, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo said on Wednesday.
