EU Votes To Steer Clear Of Film, TV In US Trade Talks

Law360, New York (May 23, 2013, 8:19 PM EDT) -- The European Parliament voted Thursday to begin talks on a U.S.-European Union free trade agreement, but called for the negotiations not to address the film and television industries.

EU lawmakers backed a demand by France and other countries that the trade deal not restrict the ability of countries to subsidize their entertainment industries or put limits on foreign programs on TV.
