Facebook Ordered To Surrender Docs In 'Like' Button IP Row

Law360, New York (May 23, 2013, 4:33 PM EDT) -- A Virginia federal judge on Thursday ordered Facebook Inc. to turn over documents related to its 2009 acquisition of FriendFeed, developer of the “Like” button, which is at the center of a lawsuit alleging Facebook infringes two social media patents.

In a one-page order, U.S. District Judge Thomas Rawles Jones Jr. granted patent holder Rembrandt Social Media LP's motion to compel Facebook to hand over documents related to the FriendFeed acquisition and make available for deposition witnesses with knowledge of the transaction.
