BLM OKs Calif. Wind Farm Amid Enviro Bird Strike Worries

Law360, New York (May 24, 2013, 5:56 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Bureau of Land Management on Friday approved the construction of a 150-megawatt wind farm in southern California, amid concerns from environmentalists over the agency allowing the project to potentially injure or kill an endangered California condor over its 30-year-lifespan without incurring an Endangered Species Act violation.

The BLM issued its record of decision authorizing the Alta East Wind Project, which will be built by a subsidiary of California's Terra-Gen Power LLC, owned by private equity firms ArcLight Capital Partners and Global Infrastructure Partners....
