NJ High Court Agrees To Consolidate Bayer's Mirena Cases

Law360, New York (May 28, 2013, 7:33 PM EDT) -- The New Jersey Supreme Court on Friday announced the consolidation of cases related to Mirena, an intrauterine device made by Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals Inc., reversing an earlier denial of multicounty status after Bayer and law firms opposing it lobbied for the consolidation.

According to the order, dated May 13, more than 60 pending Mirena cases in New Jersey will now be tried in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Bergen County, where they will be assigned to Judge Brian R. Martinotti, who will preside over the litigation and decide which cases to consolidate and which will be handled in the counties...
