Immigration Atty Charged With Advertising Scam

Law360, New York (May 29, 2013, 7:43 PM EDT) -- A New York immigration attorney was arrested and charged with defrauding two international companies out of approximately $579,000 by billing them for advertising services that were never provided, New Jersey’s U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced Wednesday.

Marijan Cvjeticanin of St. James, N.Y., allegedly fraudulently billed two international companies for placing job advertisements as part of their applications to secure foreign workers permanent U.S. residency while he worked at an unnamed New York law firm from September 1996 to September 2012, according to a criminal complaint...
