6th Circ. Won't Certify Class In Cintas Hiring Bias Suit

Law360, New York (May 30, 2013, 7:45 PM EDT) -- The Sixth Circuit on Thursday refused to certify a class of female job applicants denied employment as sales representatives at Cintas Corp. in a suit accusing the company of gender bias, likening the case to Dukes v. Wal-Mart.

The appeals court upheld a Michigan federal court’s denial of class certification and affirmed its grant of summary judgment in favor of Cintas on the majority of individual plaintiff Tanesha Davis' individual claims, reviving only one of her individual claims against the company.
