Checklist For Your Health Insurance Navigator Program

Law360, New York (June 6, 2013, 2:43 PM EDT) -- The Affordable Care Act requires health insurance exchanges to establish a navigator program. In general terms, navigators are the “public face” of the exchange — they are charged with educating the public concerning the existence of the exchange and facilitating the selection of qualified health plans (QHPs). Entities that meet certain requirements are eligible to receive grants from the exchange and to act as navigators. Licensed agents and brokers can sell QHPs in the exchange or can serve as navigators.
