Nuclear Fuel Co. Says Feds Owe $38M In Unpaid Bills

Law360, New York (May 31, 2013, 6:01 PM EDT) -- Nuclear energy company U.S. Enrichment Corp. sued the federal government Thursday, claiming it failed to pay nearly $38 million for work at nuclear enrichment plants amid a government cash crunch.

In a complaint filed in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, USEC claims the U.S. Department of Energy consistently refused to negotiate in good faith and dodged parts of its bills for most years from 2003 to 2011. The contractor did nuclear enrichment for the DOE at facilities in Portsmouth, Ohio, and Paducah, Ky.
