Bank Of America Subpoenaed In Refco Investigation

Law360, New York (November 10, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Bank of America and several other major banks that underwrote Refco’s initial public offering have been subpoenaed in connection with the investigation into the futures broker’s collapse.

Bank of America spokesman Timothy Gilles confirmed that the bank had received “regulatory inquiries,” but said the bank would not disclose the sources from which they came.

Gilles said Bank of America intended to fully comply with investigators.

The bank was one of three major underwriters of Refco’s $585 million IPO, along with Credit Suisse First Boston and Goldman...
