Delaware Debates Rules On Out-Of-State Plaintiffs

Law360, New York (January 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Delaware asbestos litigators are fighting assertions by tort reform advocates that an influx of suits filed by out-of-state plaintiffs is hurting the state's court system, and claim the courts are well-prepared to handle the growing caseload.

A panel of attorneys appointed by the Delaware Superior Court held its first public hearing on Thursday regarding possible changes to the rules governing asbestos litigation filed in the state. The panel will accept written opinions for two more weeks before offering recommendations to the court.
