Ford Seeks Sanctions In $20M Insurance Conspiracy Suit

Law360, New York (June 3, 2013, 6:15 PM EDT) -- Ford Motor Co. on Friday asked a Virginia federal judge to sanction a Berkshire Hathaway Inc. insurance unit in a suit over an alleged conspiracy to unfairly stop payments on more than $20 million owed under product liability coverage policies, saying it had failed to produce documents as ordered.

According to Ford, National Indemnity Co. had failed to comply with a January order to cough up documents related to Resolute Management Ltd. — an alleged co-conspirator in its nonpayment scheme — in February, having instead “dribbled-out”...
