FDA's Cloned Foods Approval Sparks Labeling Debate

Law360 (January 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- In the wake of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's decision to allow milk and meat produced from cloned animals to go on the market, a fierce debate has broken out over whether consumers deserve to know the origin of such products.

Last month, the FDA signed off on the cloned foods measure, contending that years of in-depth study and analysis had found little evidence to show that food from cloned animals can be hazardous.
