Obama Threatens To Veto Spending Bills Without Budget Fix

Law360, New York (June 3, 2013, 11:16 PM EDT) -- President Barack Obama will block two 2014 spending bills relating to homeland security and military construction that look set to pass the U.S. House of Representatives, unless Congress can arrive at an “overall budget framework,” the White House said Monday.

Obama will veto the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, H. R. 2217, and the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, H.R. 2216, if Congress does not figure out a budget that supports investments in areas including education and infrastructure, according to...
