Detroit-Area Health Official Cops Plea In Kickback Scheme

Law360, New York (June 4, 2013, 5:24 PM EDT) -- A former Detroit-area county official pled guilty Tuesday to one count of wire fraud for his role in a scheme to pocket $400,000 from a contract between a county health care provider and an information technology company.

Prosecutors alleged Michael D. Grundy, who was both an assistant executive for Wayne County and the executive director of Wayne County HealthChoice, had fraudulent arranged for a wire transfer of $400,000 to an IT company called Medtrix LLC.
