Fla. Arcade Cos. Can't Block 'Gray-Area' Slot Machine Ban

Law360, Miami (June 4, 2013, 9:20 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal judge on Tuesday refused to block implementation of a new state law banning so-called gray-area slot machines, saying that the arcade game operators challenging the law were unlikely to suffer irreparable harm from enforcement of the statute.

U.S. District Judge James Cohn denied a preliminary injunction request from Boardwalk Brothers Inc. and Play It Again Fla LLC, two arcade operators fighting the new law, which clarifies that an amusement arcade exception to a state ban on gambling does not apply to casino-style games...
