Discount Chain Hit With Store Manager FLSA Suit

Law360, New York (January 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Discount chain Family Dollar Stores Inc. has been hit with a purported collective action alleging the company denied overtime to its store managers in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

In a complaint filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, former Family Dollar store manager Andrew Avirett claimed the company failed to pay him and other store managers overtime compensation when they worked for more than 40 hours per week.
