COPPA Rule Reminders For July 1 Compliance Deadline

Law360, New York (June 7, 2013, 12:02 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission’s strict new online privacy rules for children will go into effect July 1, 2013, despite industry concerns regarding significant compliance challenges. To demonstrate its seriousness, the FTC sent notice letters to more than 90 mobile app developers to encourage compliance with the amended Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act rule’s broader definition of personal information.
