$237M Medicare FCA Award Request Excessive, Hospital Says

Law360, New York (June 6, 2013, 2:38 PM EDT) -- Tuomey Healthcare System Inc. on Wednesday hit back at the federal government’s request for a $237 million award after a jury found it guilty of defrauding Medicare, telling a South Carolina federal judge the amount was unconstitutionally excessive and would “destroy” the hospital.
