Former NJ Law Firm Staffers Prison-Bound For Embezzlement

Law360, New York (June 6, 2013, 7:44 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey federal judge on Thursday sentenced two former administrative employees of a New Jersey law firm to year-plus prison terms and ordered them to pay restitution following their admission to having embezzled more than $788,000 from their employer.

U.S. District Judge Peter G. Sheridan sentenced Marla Deptula and Rose L. Crabbe to 20 months and 15 months in prison, respectively, for conspiracy to commit mail fraud related to an embezzlement scheme in which the women wrote checks from an Edison, N.J., law firm’s accounts...
