Calpine Creditors Object To Motion For Stay

Law360, New York (January 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The unsecured creditors of bankrupt energy company Calpine Corp. have taken on a group of banks that objected to confirmation of the company's Chapter 11 plan.

In a motion filed on Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, the official committee of unsecured creditors asked the court to deny the temporary stay requested by Compania Internacional Financiera SA, Coudree Global Equities Fund, Standard Bank of London and Leonardo Capital Fund SPC.
