Jury Convicts Ex-Rep. Renzi Of 17 Corruption Charges

Law360, New York (June 11, 2013, 10:52 PM EDT) -- An Arizona federal jury on Tuesday convicted former Rep. Rick Renzi, R-Ariz., on 17 counts stemming from corruption charges that he tried to push a mining company into buying land from a former business partner who owed him money.

Renzi, 55, had been charged with 32 counts, but was found guilty of a little more than half of them, including conspiracy, racketeering and money laundering charges, according to a Tuesday statement by prosecutors.
