Health Co. Urges FDA To Ditch Calif.'s Proposition 65

Law360, New York (January 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Nutritional supplement company Swanson Health Products Inc. filed a petition with the FDA on Tuesday to overrule a California proposition that it said irreconcilably conflicts with federal statutes.

California's Proposition 65 requires manufacturers to give clear warning if their product exposes consumers in the state to any detectable amount of more than 800 listed chemicals that are known to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity.
